HSSE SAFETY BULLETIN: Investing in Safety Advancements: Bio Med Wash

Westcan takes employee safety very seriously, as does any company that recognizes that people are the most valuable resource a successful company has. With a dedicated, in-house HSSE department, Westcan is constantly on the lookout for the latest advancements in safety technology to ensure that our staff are protected in the event of adversity. One such product that has caught our attention is Bio Med Eye Wash.

What is Bio Med?

Bio Med Wash © is a sterile, heavy mist containing 100% Bio-Logic Aqua©, an all-natural, pH correct, pure tissue-culture grade of water. The application is helpful in removing particulate matter and crusted exudate from cuts and abrasions, and in removing irritating chemicals from skin our eyes.

Why Bio Med?
The product is more highly sterile and has a longer shelf life then traditional eye wash stations. It allows you to administer the emergency equipment with minimal effort and maximum speed, in incidents where seconds can make a difference.

How does this affect Westcan?

Westcan is dedicated to ensuring a safe work environment, and is constantly seeking to provide the best options available to ensure our team can perform at the highest level. As such, we have undertaken to replace the traditional company eye wash stations with Bio Med Eye Wash stations.

How can you contribute to a successful conversion?

Ensure that your staff is educated on the new eye wash protocols. Ensure they have the time and resources to familiarize themselves with the new product and how to use it in an emergency. Below you will find several resources on the Bio Med Wash product, including instructions on proper use and a video demonstration found here.
